Overview

This page covers terms and conditions for a range of purchases and services:

  • conscious movement sessions and workshops,
  • counseling sessions,
  • other shipped products.

Conscious Movement Sessions and Workshops

The conscious movement sessions and workshops are typically held as part of the Newcastle Dance Collective and governed by its terms and conditions.

Booking is required to ensure we can stick within the maximum number of dancers, both for covid precautions and to make sure it’s not too crowded to enjoy the dance.

To book you need a paid ticket.

Unless your place is filled by someone else we can’t refund or roll over payment if you have to cancel. This is about making the session financially viable. We base our decision to go ahead with a session on numbers booked and if several people drop out last minute and are refunded we not cover costs.

We realise that a no-refund policy can feel unfair but having explored possibilities we haven’t yet found an alternative that doesn’t leave us financially vulnerable. We’re mindful of managing prices so that they’re accessible/affordable to all in service of our community, but that leaves very little wiggle room.

We think this is in line with most events you are likely to attend. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Counseling Sessions

Counseling sessions are governed by a designated informed consent form for counseling in the modality of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The following contains terms and conditions for payments and cancellations.

Counseling Plan

Depending on the issues you want counselling on we will agree on a counselling plan. In general, we will work in one of two models: In a standard counselling format, we can agree on a package of six ACT sessions in advance. A session will include a review of the progress since last session, engagement with ACT core processes, learning skills, and taking practices home for continuous steps towards the goals.

In Focused ACT (FACT), we will start with just one session and seek to make a difference for the issue at hand and establish a skill to take home and practice. At the end of a FACT, we can agree on another session if this seems beneficial.

Typically, counseling sessions take 45 minutes.

Endings

It is challenging to know in advance how long counselling will take to reach the agreed upon goal. In a standard counselling format, I recommend a sequence of six sessions. We then take stock in the sixth session and make an informed decision about continuing or ending the counselling. You may also find that you do not need all six session and can end the counselling at any time.

Realistically, no counselling modality works for everyone. If you this approach is not the right one for you or you are not happy with the progress of your counselling, I can refer you to a colleague with a different modality.

In Focused ACT sessions, we agree on a single session to start with, evaluate the benefits at the end of it, and make an informed decision on continuing with another session or not.

Payment and Cancellations

Sessions are booked as a package and paid in advance. For cancellation or rescheduling less than 48h before the session I charge a reduced rate. Since the session time is specifically reserved for you, I charge the full fee or no-shows without prior cancellation.

Other Shipped Products

We only ship products to the United Kingdom.

Our refund and returns policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, we can’t offer you a full refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.


Additional non-returnable items:

  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable software products/PDFs
  • Some health and personal care items

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.


There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:

  • Book with obvious signs of use
  • CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened.
  • Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
  • Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.


If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items


Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges


We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at mail@danceoflife.space and send your item to the designated return address.

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.


If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

Shipping returns

To return your product, you should mail your product to the return address given in the confirmation email.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.


If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
